Shakespeare in the Park
The 2023 Shakespeare in the Park show takes on A Midsummer Night's Dream with fresh ideas that aim to highlight the more serious themes of the classic play whilst still maintaining the central comedy plotlines.
Reframing the story to focus on the three central female characters, Titania, Hermia and Helena, this interpretation focuses on the more serious emotional conflicts of the female characters, besieged by their male counterparts. It contrasts them against the comedy of the show to highlight the depth of these issues.
SUTCo's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' balances fae mysticism with classic slapstick to create a perfect summer afternoon experience!
